Beowulf is the most famous Anglo-Saxon poem.
The poem tells the story of a hero called Beowulf, native of Geatland, who becomes famous by helping Hrothgar, King of the Danes. Beowulf kills first a moster called Grendel who had been terrifyng Hrothgar's people and then Grendel's mother who has promised to take revenge for her son's death.
